‘Care for our players’ programme

‘I Care’ Project

Back in 2010 Mizen Rovers GAA Club developed a programme called ‘Care for Our Players’. It consists of three components namely ‘Road Safety’, ‘Jobs & Enterprise’ and ‘Health & Wellbeing’. Each year the club endeavours to carry out one or more exercises under each aspect of the programme. We see this as being vital to the welfare of our players and as a result the survival of our small rural GAA club.

The ‘I Care’ project is a new initiative under the road safety aspect of our programme. It involves the displaying of a sticker on the windscreen of a vehicle once the driver has vowed to abide by certain criteria. The sticker will act as an outward sign that it is safe to travel in this vehicle because the driver cares about you, his passengers and all other road users.

FBD Insurance Plc., have come on board as sponsors of Mizen Rover’s Road Safety project and are happy to support this innovative idea which they see as contributing to more responsible driver habits which we together believe will ultimately result in less fatalities on our roads.
