The U 14 hurlers played Carbery Rangers in the championship semi-final on Sunday June 26th in Skibbereen.
The final score did not do justice to their endeavours especially in the second half when some extra scores could have been registered. Mizen opened brightly and their first time hurling unsettled the Ross boys initially. A couple of frees of the soft variety settled Carbery Rangers and they used their physical strength around the middle to dominate and keep the scoreboard ticking over, and also denying the Mizen lads scoring opportunities. At half time Carbery Rangers led 4-06 to 0-01. The second half was much more even and the locals battled to the end but a rather fortunate goal late on let the final score Mizen Rovers 0-03 Carbery Rangers 5-10.
