We have lost a lot of good people over recent months and last week was no different with the local GAA community saddened with the untimely passing of one of the great gaels of our Parish. Donal, from Dunmanus, was a GAA man through and through from his playing days in his youth back in the 50’s and 60’s to his continued involvement through many years and in many roles thereafter. This is not to ignore the fine GAA family that Donal and his wife Mary have given to our Parish, all again steeped in the GAA in so many ways. And as Fr. Alan mentioned in his homily on Saturday last the GAA genes are continuing into the next generation, home and away. From Mizen Rovers we say Thank you Donal for your great support over the years, for your friendly welcome when our members visited the farm for various events in the last few years and of course for our Chairman Kieran who possess all the sound traits you passed on to him. To Mary, Kieran and the extended Family we in the Club sympathise with you on the passing of a good friend and a good man.
