Since the first running of the Route 2 Crook way back in 2005 one of the vital components of making it such a success over the years was the input of John Walshe of Ballycotton Running Promotions. John has brought his expertise in holding events such as this to Goleen each year along with the I.T. equipment to sort the entries and results before and after the race. Because of his passion for road running he gives of his time at very little costs to the Mizen Club. In return it has become the tradition for members from our Club to travel to John’s home village of Ballycotton annually in early March to help out with the stewarding of the ‘Ballycotton 10′ one of the biggest athletic events in the country with over 3,500 participants this year. Last Saturday evening Mizen Rovers GAA Club honoured its U12 and U13 Football teams from 2014. These were the two teams that won the Rebel Óg West Leagues and gave us such excitement and enjoyment when doing so. Brian Hurley, Cork Senior Footballer will make a presentation of medals to the U12′s and U13′s winners of the 2014 Rebel Óg West League Football finals respectively on Saturday next February 21st @ 4.30pm sharp in Goleen Community Sports Centre.
